Last week, I was asked to run a caricature workshop as part of a #teambuilding day for 3i private equity. I did an introduction to the history of caricature art, and then, unusually, for part of the session, I posed as the model. Don't panic, I kept my clothes on! Afterwards participants drew celebrities of their own choosing, and I went around the room to draw the participants.

Yesterday evening, I spent four hours drawing #caricature sketches for Harris.ai in Flight Club #Liverpool . For clarity, it's a darts themed bar, nothing to do with aviation or violence. Sketches were done with a brush pen and Promarkers on bleedproof paper. The client's logo was pre-printed onto this. And finished in time to get the train back to Birmingham!

Recently I was asked to run a workshop for a GP practice group in Bradford. The session started with a few historical notes, then I showed examples of the ways various artists had drawn caricatures of celebrities. After this, I did a 3 minute demo of a sketch of one of the delegates, then got them to do some drawings themselves. Some chose to draw each other, but one one table, everyone decided to draw Vicky Pollard!

Whilst #caricaturing is my main line of work, I also enjoy other art, and painting buildings and views whilst on the spot is a great way to keep the eye, mind and hand in practice. All observational art keeps the artist aware and connected, and the discipline of watercolour, especially with limited time on site, fosters a conscious view of the world around. This cannot be achieved by either photography or by drawing from photos. These are a few from the last year or so.

I've been waiting decades to use that intro, and last week I finally got to draw #caricatures at Natalie's #henparty. The event was at Fairlawns Hotel in Aldridge #Staffordshire. I managed to keep my clothes on.

A few months ago, Product Guru, who aim to connect niche businesses with buyers, asked me to draw caricatures at a gathering in Birmingham. And last week they asked me back again to do two further events. The businesses involved ranged from brewers to pet food manufacturers. The drawings, some individual and a few in groups, were done with brush pens and Promarkers (pens manufactured by Winsor and Newton) and presented to the customers in clear display wallets to protect them

Last week, I was invited to draw #caricatures at the harvest #party for farmer and tenants on the Packington Estate in #Warwickshire. The drawings were done with Promarkers, outlined with a brush pen (literally a brush at the front with an ink cartridge behind). They were drawn on bleedproof marker paper. Once finished, they were wrapped in clear display sleeves, to preserve them as souvenirs of the event.

Two days at the NEC, #Birmingham for #Bauer publishing, who organised the #FleetAndMobilityLive show. Mixed black and white with colour drawing (using Promarkers and brush pens) on paper printed with the show's hashtag and client's logo.
